The New 2017 Ford Mustang is Coming to Abbotsford, BC
For those of you old enough to remember the 1964 World’s Fair in New York, you might have taken notice of a new horse-emblazoned car being introduced to the world. Now Ford has done it again with the revamped 2017 Ford Mustang and the new Shelby GT350 and GT350R.
You’ll be able to find the new Ford Mustang at our Magnuson Ford dealership in Abbotsford, BC. The two-door Mustang can be enjoyed in both coupe and convertible form, with four engine choices, including one new V8 that blends exotic racing technology with proven American craftsmanship (read on!). And don’t worry about a lack of head-turning colour options: bold choices include Deep Impact Blue and Ruby Red. If past performance is any indication of what’s to come, 2017 promises to be a ride that will feel great to sit in, and look great to be seen in.
You don’t have to sit at home and wait for the new 2017 Ford Mustang to arrive at our new vehicle showroom. Come in and talk to our dealership staff today to learn more about the soon to be arriving model. Or if a new car is out of your budget for now, then please feel free to come and test drive one of our previous model years or pre-owned Ford Mustangs. For anyone in the British Columbia mainland areas of Abbotsford, Mission, Langley, Chilliwack, Surrey, or Maple Ridge, we are just a phone call or a short drive away.
2017 Ford Mustang Engine Lineup
Four, six, or eight, the new 2017 Ford Mustang has cylinder options for everyone! Returning is the 3.7L V6 engine, somehow the weakest of the Mustang’s three engine options at a mere (!) 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Mere when compared to the 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque for the 5.0L V8 juggernaut. The turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine, which puts out 310 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque, is a new kind of engine for a new kind of Mustang. The big news this year is the Shelby GT350/GT350R and their 5.2L flat-plane crank V8 which produces 526 horsepower, 429 lb-ft of torque, and has a screaming redline of 8200rpm.
2017 Ford Mustang Interior
For the seasoned driver, stepping into the cockpit – yes, Ford calls the interior cabin a cockpit – of the new 2017 Ford Mustang will be immediately reassuring; every detail, from the shift column to the placement of the steering wheel, seems to be optimally in place. The airline metaphor makes sense, however, with large minimalist dials, knobs, and tactile switches taking the place of more modern and techy-looking instruments, not to mention the “Since 1964” Mustang dog-tag badge on the dash. Ford has decked out the new Mustang’s infotainment features with Shaker Pro Audio, the latest SYNC 3 infotainment system, ensuring that your 1980’s New Wave tunes won’t let you down when you roll up to a light. Lastly, even inside the convertible it looks like you’ll be able to hear your thoughts; Ford has upped the heat and sound insulation, as well as the lowering speed of the multilayer cloth top.
2017 Ford Mustang Safety
What says safety more than a high-visibility Race Red or Triple Yellow muscle car? But in all seriousness, even though safety features are not usually the top selling feature that lures Mustang buyers, the 2017 Ford Mustang more than delivers. The multi-stage AdvanceTrac traction and stability control know when to clamp down to prevent an accident, and when to let their hair down and let you enjoy yourself. And assuming you even let your young driver get behind the wheel of your new 2017 Ford Mustang, Ford’s MyKey system lets you set speed and audio volume limits (perhaps saving a few traffic misdemeanor fines from showing up unexpectedly in your mailbox).
